ACTIVITIES OF SENATE LEADERS

On the morning of September 03, 2002, Samdech Chea Sim, Acting Head of State of the Kingdom of Cambodia, granted an audience to an engineering institution delegation of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), led by H.E Meas Sokhom. Oknha Lim Ros and his wife, representing the AZ Group Company, donated five tons of rice and $11,000US to the Cambodian leader. The aid was intended to help people suffering from protracted floods and droughts.

On the afternoon of September 05, 2002, Samdech Chea Sim, Acting Head of State of the Kingdom of Cambodia, granted an audience to Mrs. Ouk Sary, representative of teachers from the municipal education service. Mrs. Ouk Sary made a gift of sarongs (Cambodian typical skirts) which would be delivered to needy families and flood and drought victims.
On the morning of September 13, 2002, Samdech Chea Sim, Acting Head of State, granted an audience to H.E Hartmut NASSAER, President of a European Union Parliamentary delegation in charge of relations with members of ASEAN and Republic of Korea parliaments.
On the morning of September 17, 2002 Samdech Chea Sim, Acting Head of State of the Kingdom of Cambodia granted an audience to H.E Kazinmierz A. Duchouski, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Cambodia, during which the Ambassador presented credentials to the Cambodian leader, and to the outgoing Zimbawean Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Cambodia.
On the morning of September 19, 2002, Samdech Chea Sim, Acting Head of State of the Kingdom of Cambodia granted an audience to H.E Samir Arrour, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Cambodia and was presented with credentials.
On the morning of September 25, 2002, Samdech Chea Sim, Acting Head of State of the Kingdom of Cambodia granted an audience to Gen. FUKUAN YOU, member of the Military Central Committee and Chief of the General Staff of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.
On September 22-29, 2002, Samdech Chea Sim, Acting Head of State of the Kingdom of Cambodia and his wife Mrs. Nhem Seun attended the Pchum Ben Festival at various pagodas such as Wat Batum Wattey, Wat Khtor, Wat Sansom Kosal and Wat Chumpuvan in Phnom Penh and Wat Brasithivong, Wat Samaong and Wat Prek Praing in Kandal Province.

On the morning of September 05, 2002, Acting President of the Senate Sdech Krom Khun SISOWATH Chivan Monirak and H.E Nhek Bun Chhay, Second Vice President of the Senate chaired a Senate Permanent Committee meeting and the 7^th Plenary session, 1^st legislature, to discuss a draft law on “Agreement on the Procedure of Using the 2^nd Budget Package Following the Contract on Financial Services under an Asean Service Agreement” and a law on “Social Security Form for People Covered by Provisions of Labor Law”.

On the morning of September 10, 2002, Acting President of the Senate Sdech Krom Khun SISOWATH Chivan Monirak granted an audience to Gen. Artit Kamlag-ek, Chairman of the Thai National Defense Commission.

On the morning of September 11, 2002, Acting President of the Senate Sdech Krom Khun SISOWATH Chivan Monirak granted an audience to a delegation of the National Resilience Institute under the Indonesian Ministry of National Defence, led by Gen. Maj I.Made Yasa.

On the morning of September 12, 2002, Acting President of the Senate Sdech Krom Khun SISOWATH Chivan Monirak granted an audience to a delegation of the European Community, led President by H.E Hartmut NASSAUER, who is in charge of liaison with members of Parliament of ASEAN and the Republic of Korea.
