Chea Sim in February
allowed foreign delegates and guests to pay him courtesy visits and
have an audience with him. They were:
Bertrand Ford, Diplomatic
Adviser to the Cabinet of the French Foreign Ministry in charge of
ASEAN (Cambodia-Laos) affairs at 8:00A.M on Saturday morning of
February 2nd, 2002;
H.E Katzuzi Seukiya, Former Minister of Transportation and a Japanese
parliamentary delegation at 8:30 A.M on February 4th, 2002.
The purpose is to strengthen friendship and cooperation between the two
countries, and learn the conduct of the commune election held on February 3rd,
2002. They suggested that the Cambodian Senate become an APPU member.

Serge VINÇON, Vice-President of the French Senate on the morning of
February 5th 2002. He applauded the February 3rd
2002 commune election as it took place smoothly and peacefully.
