The commission on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, Information and Media, can be called “Fifth Commission” and with abbreviated acronym “C.O.F.A.I.M” or “C 5”. The COFAIM shall assume the role of coordination and improvement in the implement of the national policies on foreign affairs, international cooperation, information and media. The commission on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, Information and Media shall assume the following duties: a-Conduct study research, and make recommendation on any proposal, bills, proposed laws, and other legal instruments referred to by the Permanent Committee or various commissions, or the general secretariat of the senate. b-Conduct coordinated research, collect domestic and international data, and provide information or recommendation to the Permanent Committee of the Senate as deemed necessary. c-Assumes the roles of service provider to the senate in monitoring and follow up of the implementation of policies related foreign affairs, international cooperation, information and media provided for under the law and make necessary recommendation in order to improve the quality of this field. d-Maintain relationship with various commissions of the National Assembly, Royal government and other institutions in order to internalize in advance all initiatives and decisions on any bill, proposed law or issues related to the duty of the commission. e-Fulfill other tasks assigned by the Permanent Committee of the Senate.
