ACTIVITIES OF SENATE NINE COMMISSIONS

COMPLAINTS AND LAWSUITS:

   - The First Senate Commission received 22 cases (11 complaints and 11 lawsuits). The commission forwarded cases to relevant authorities, which eleven had been resolved. It received and issued 04 letters of clarification and notification to the plaintiffs.

MEETINGS:

   - June 02: Senators joined and shared opinions in a lecture from on (a change forward economic market in countries under socialism region European experience) at the University of Cambodia.

   - June 02: H.E. Mrs. Sam Kanitha, Secretary of the Eighth Senate Commission help talks with Mrs. Aissata, UNDP officer on obvious implementation in Cambodia of women in two parliaments at the Senate.

June 04: Senators joined in a working discussion with AIPO group on< threat of drugs>at the senate.
   - June 07:
H.E. Mrs. Men Maly, Chairwoman of the First Senate Commission led a working discussion with Mr. Bruno Beaufume, Chief of the International Department of French Senate, on<Gender of fairs implementation in Cambodia> at the senate.
   - June 11: Senators joined a round-table discussed on a world textile agreement and relevant of the agreement for Cambodia,
<organized> by the International Cooperation and Peace at SunWay Hotel.

June 16: H.E. Mrs. Sam Kanitha, Secretary of the Eighth Senate Commission participated in a working discussion with the United Nation Development Program   (UNDP) on Implementation after meeting in Marnil, Philippines at the UNDP office.


   - June 16:
 H.E. Mr. Ouk Bunchoeun, Chairman of the Sixth Senate Commission led a working discussion on law draft for electing senators with German lawyers of German senate.

   - June 17: H.E. Mr. Khieu San, Vice Chairman of the Sixth Senate Commission joined a meeting of an administrative council for coalition transparency in Cambodia help at the Social Development Center.

June 23: Senators participated and shared opinion in a workshop on
“Freedom of information in Cambodia” Organized by Cambodia Human Rights and Development (ADHOC) at SunWay Hotel.

June 30:  Senators joined and shared opinion in a workshop on
“Cambodia and Association of South East Asian Nation (ASEAN)organized by the Cambodia Institute for Cooperation and Peace at the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC).

SENATORS’ VISIT TO LOCALITIES:

   - May 24-27:  H.E. Mr. Chhit Kim Yeat, Vice Chairman of the Ninth Senate Commission visited people and monitored mineral area at Koh Khuher Commune, Sambo district, Kratie province, and Mondukiri province.

   - June 01: H.E. Mr. Toch Sakh, Vice Chairman of the Seventh Senate Commission visited people and handed over materials and some cash to on the occasion orphan the International children day at the orphan Center in Kampong Leaw commune, Kampong Leaw district, Prey Veng province.
   - June 01:
H.E. Mr. Van Mad, Member of the Second Senate Commission visited Islamic people and monitored a school building area, which was donated by Islamic World Bank Development in Tmey village, Po Pell commune, Ponheakrek district, Kampong Cham province.
   - June 01-25:
H.E. Mr. Ouk Moeun, Member of the First Senate Commission, visited and held a get-together with people and controlled a case of Human rights violation in Kampong Cham province.
   - June 02-04:
H.E. Mr. Ung Ty, Vice Chairman of the First Senate Commission, visited people, learned about human rights situation and controlled implementation of provincial court’s verdict in Kampot province and Khan Tulkok, Phnom Phen.
   - June 03:
H.E. Mr. Chhit kim Yeat, Vice Chairman of the Ninth Senate Commission visited and held a get-together with people in Tbong Kmom district, Kampong Cham province.

   - June 03-04: H.E. Mr. Kang chan, Member of the First Senate Commission, visited and held a get-together with people and delivered beds, mosquito nets, blankets bed sheet and some medical equipments as donation, which was donated by OK NHA Dul Phork for Kratie provincial hospital.

   - June 04: H.E. Mr. Toch Sak, Vice Chairman of the Seventh Senate Commission, visited people and as Presidency of a training course for council communal in Prey Veng provincial capital.

   - June 04: H.E. Mr. Thach Setha, Member of the Sixth Senate Commission, Presided over a ceremony to hold a get-together and vice-offering to 1946 Buddhist monks in commemoration of the souls of Khmer Kampuchea Krom heroic monks and heroes in front of a garden at Wat Bortum Wattei, Phnom Penh.

   - June 05: H.E. Mr. Khiev Suon, Member of the Ninth Senate Commission, visited and held a get-together with people in Russei and Tmor Kol districts, Battambang province.
   - June 05-06-12-13-19:
H.E. Mrs. Men Maly, Chairwoman of the First Senate Commission, visited people and learned about a caste of human rights violation in Srei Santhor district, Kampong Cham province.
   - June 06:
H.E. Mr. Toch Sak, Vice Chairman of the Seventh Senate Commission, visited and held a get-together with people and handed over gifts to people whose houses were fallen down by storm in Baphnom district, Prey Veng province.
   - June 06:
H.E. Mr. Chea Kim, Member of the Fifth Senate Commission, visited and held a get-together with residents and handed over 10 tons of rice, 1000 Kromars, 1000 scarves and 1000 packages of medicine to residents who are lacking food in Tapoung and Tamoen, Tmorkol district; and Preah Pos, Doumba and Koh Kralor communes, Koh Kralor district, Battambang province.
   - June 06:
H.E. Mr. Ung Sim, Member of the Fourth Senate Commission, visited and held a get-together with people in Aural district, Kampong Speu province.

June 08-30: H.E. Mr. Ung Ty, Vice Chairman of the First Senate Commission, visited and held a get-together with people and learned about human rights situation and people complaints in Khan Daunpenh, Khan BraimpiMakara, Phnom Penh, Kampot district, Kampot province; Stung Sen, Stong and Kampong Svay districts, Kampong thom province; Kampongtra bek district, Prey Vang province; Bovel district, Battambang province; Kampong Tralach district, Kampong chhnang province; Bakan district, Pursat province; Kampot district, Kampot province and Chbarmon district, Kampong speu province. 

   - June 10-14: H.E. Mr. Chhea Pengchheang, Chairman of the Second Senate Commission, visited people and learned about people’s life and held a get-together      with Siem Reap province governor.

   - June 10: H.E. Mr. Kong Korm, Chairman of the Seventh Senate Commission, visited people and presided over a ceremony to open a training course for commune officials in Kratie province.
   - June10:
H.E. Mr. Boeuy Kaeuk, Member of the Ninth Senate Commission, visited and held a get-together with people in Chantrea commune, Romeas Hek district, Svay Rieng province.
   - June12:
H.E. Mrs. Sam Kanitha, Secretary of the Eighth Senate Commission, visited and held a get-together with communal council and people of Cheung Prey district, Kampong Cham province.

   - June 12: H.E. Mr. Khieu San, Vice Chairman of the Sixth Senate Commission, visited and held a get-together with people and gave medicines to people and gifts to Buddhist monks in Banteag Mlou pagoda, Sambo commune, Lvea- Em district, Kandal province.

   - June 13: H.E. Mr. Toch Sak, Vice Chairman of the Seventh Senate Commission, visited people and monitored the canal restoration in Preah Sdech district, Prey Veng province.

H.E. Mr. Ung Sim, Member of the Fourth Senate Commission, visited  and held a get-together with people in Prek Rey commune, Lvea-Em district, Kandal province.
   - June13-14 and 26:
H.E. Mr. Kang Chan, Member of the First Senate Commission, visited and held a get-together with people and learned about human rights situation in Bo Vel district, Battambang province.
   - June 14:
H.E. Mr. Chhit Kim Yeat, Vice Chairman of the Ninth Senate Commission, visited and held a get-together with people and learned about people’s life in Dampre district, Kampong Cham province.
   - June 14-16:
H.E. Mr. Has Saren, Secretary of the Ninth Senate Commission, visited and held a get-together with people in Tuol Sdey, Chamtrea, Mesar Thgnork and Samroang communes, Chamtrea district, Svay Rieng province
   - June15:
H.E. Mr. Van Mad, Member of the Second Senate Commission, visited and held a get-together with Islamic people and monitored a mosque constructed in Khan Preynup, Sihanouk City.
   - June 18-19:
H.E. Mrs. Ty Borasy, Chairwoman of the Fifth Senate Commission, visited people and learned about people’s life living along Cambodia-Vietnam border in Kampong Trach district, Kampot province.
   - June 19:
H.E. Mrs. Sam Kanitha, Secretary of the Eighth Senate Commission, visited and held a get-together with people in Trapaing Thom, Purthi Cham Roeun, Purthikadal communes and Boseth district, Kampong Speu province.
   - June 19:
H.E. Mr. Van Mad, Member of the Second Senate Commission, visited and held a get-together with Islam people and gave men’s caps and women’s cheesecloth to them in Mesar Preah Chan commune, Prey Veng province.
    - June 20:
H.E. Mr. Seng Oeurm, Chairman of the Eighth Senate Commission, visited and held a get-together with people and gave candle seasons to Buddhist monks in Wat Koh Dat Andet, Odong district, Kandal province.
   - June 20:
H.E. Mr. Toch Sak, Vice Chairman of the Seventh Senate Commission, visited and held a get-together with people in Kien Svay district, Kandal province.
   - June 22:
H.E. Mr. Chhit Kim Yeat, Vice Chairman of the Ninth Senate Commission, visited and held a get-together with people and monitored the construction of a self governing port in Sihanouk ville.

H.E. Mr. Kang Chan, Member of the First Senate Commission, visited and held a get-together with people and handed over Sarongs, Pens, Books, Pencils and three computers as to schools in Svay Rieng province.

PARTICIPATION IN CEREMONIES

   - June 10: H.E. Mr. Chea Kim, H.E. Mr. Ung Sim and H.E. Mrs. Mech Somaly joined the International Children’s Day Kien Klaing Orpha Centre in Khan Russei Keo, Phnom Penh under the presidency of Samdech Krom Preah Norodom Ranariddh.
   - June 01: Senators joined International Children’s Day under the presidency of
Samdech Hun Sen Prime Minister of Government of Cambodia in Samdech Hun Sen Garden.
   - June 04:
H.E. Mr. Saba Bacha, Chairman of the Ninth Senate Commission and H.E. Mr. Chea Kim, Member of the Fifth Senate Commission took part in the 9th dissemination report ceremony on session process of the Nation Assembly of the 1st legislature, under the Chairmanship of Samdech Kron Preah, President of the National Assembly at Sunway Hotel.
   - June 04:
H.E. Mr. Toch Sak, Vice Chairman of the Seventh Senate Commission, and H.E. Mr. Sek Sam Iet, Secretary of the Fourth Senate Commission, joined a ceremony to give diplomas to students in Prey Veng province, under the presidency of H.E Mr. Sek Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister and Co-Minister of Interior of the Royal Government of Cambodia.
   - June 12:
H.E. Mr. Sek Sam Iet, Secretary of the Fourth Senate Commission, joined a ceremony to inaugurate of Meatophum Komar building in Daim Spey village, Slaket commune, Battambong district, Battambong province, under the presidency of H.E. Mr. Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister and Co-Minister Interior of the Royal Government of Cambodia.
   - June 13:
H.E. Mr. Seng Deurm, Chairman of the Eighth Senate Commission, joined a solidarity ceremony to raise funds in wat Kien Svay, Kien Svay district, Kandal Province.

June 15: Senator joined an AIPO meeting on
“being well prepared the 25th General Assembly of Asean Inter-Parliamentary Organization," under the presidency of Samdech Krom Preah Norodon Ranariddh”.

   - June 18 : H.E. Mr. Khieu San, Vice Chairman of the Sixth Senate Commission,  H.E. Mr. Chea Kim, Member of the Fifth Commission and H.E Mrs. Sam Kanitha Secretary of the Eighth Senate Commission joined Queen’s Birthday at the Headquarter center of Funcinpec Party near Chroy Chang Var Bridge, under the presidency of Samdech krom Preah Norodom Ranariddh.
